 FlyLight

balloons for lighting large outdoor spaces

 

 

 

FlyLight responds to the growing demand for solutions for lighting needs that are not adequately resolved.

Based on patented proprietary led-engine, light and performing so as to be rised by aerostat or light aluminum or fiberglass poles.

 

Conceived and designed to operate quickly in emergencies and as an ideal solution to illuminate events (cultural, social, sporting) adding the charm of night time, it does not require plant interventions thanks to autonomy and independence from the electricity grid, offering high environmental sustainability for the reduced consumption and for the absence of pollution and noise of electrogenerators.

 

FlyLight, raised and operating even from 100 meters above the ground (44 lux with a 30 ° emission cone), in addition to the main objective of illuminating a large area below it can operate as a support for aerial photography and surveillance as well as a radio link in telecommunications, all in total security.

 

The studies and experiments have led to the identification of the components with the best performance and reliability, acts to ensure the success of the product:

  • patented balloon used mainly in the military sphere, equipped with an element of lift and stability to act resistance at high altitude in exceptional weather conditions also in case of injury;

  • autonomy of the single helium inflation of more than 45 days;

  • led engine with high lumen / watt output, small size and weight, low heat production with luminous flux stability to 85 ° C, equipped with the patented Thermoled; also configured as a fault-tolerant solution;

  • high resistance, flame retardant electric cables;

  • lithium battery pack with a voltage of 56Vdc, 50Ah and 100Ah, suitable for the better sizing of strength and weight;

  • use of 99.9% helium gas.

 

FlyLight makes non-illuminated areas and sites usable, without requiring the creation of electricity distribution networks or the use of polluting and noisy electrogenerators, in total safety due to the absence of encumbrances which, moreover, can deface places and with aesthetic results on architectures not otherwise achievable.

 

Lighting is fundamental in events that, gathering a high density of public even in late evening and night without enough natural lighting, requires greater visibility and clearly visible references for the routes and as meeting points.

In addition, from above the balloons can support the management of radio links and surveillance.

 

 

Innovation

 

Currently are used halogen lamps or HMI lamps with consumption of 4 kWh for installation with air inflated balloon (constant jet for cooling) resting on stands at 5/6 meters of height with power supply from mains or with electrogenerator.

 

They are solutions with 360 ° light emission and light pollution (UNI 10819 or later L.R.) but, above all, with insufficient lighting of the area resulting in only 40% of the emission oriented on the useful surface.

 

For its applications, FlyLight consumes 400W to illuminate an area of over 4,000 square meters from a height of 20 meters, respecting the laws and with a solution of maximum efficiency, without determining the presence of obstacles and risks in the intervention area thanks to the total operating autonomy and risk-free design both for the reliability of the balloons used with inert gas and for the use of very low voltage and current, both for the safety of the cables in dyneema and for the elimination of obstacles on the ground .

FlyLight, in professional applications, is proposed as a system consisting of one or more led-engines, pvc or polyurethane balloons, lithium battery 56Vdc 50/100 Ah, extensible aluminum rods, helium tanks and a trolley able to contain all with a total weight of 80kg.

 

The system finds application in:

  • solutions to quickly intervene in the lighting of areas affected by natural emergencies;

  • solutions for lighting night-time mobile work sites, especially for emergency operations;

  • lighting of cultural, social and sporting events in outdoor sites;

  • architectural and archaeological lighting solutions;

  • solutions or integration with lighting solutions for the cinema;

  • lighting of nocturnal events at sea (pleasure, swimming, ...);

  • lighting for the promotion of commercial activities;

  • optional for filming and radio-bridges in the application of the lighting solution.

Provide a solution free from constraints for autonomy and resistance to wind, rain, hail and snow, expanding the number of installations and the conditions of success.

 

Currently the lighting solutions based on helium balloons, even with outdated and inadequate lighting technologies, can operate only in optimal atmospheric conditions and even in the milder periods of the year the competitiors offers solutions on stands with a minimum of doubling of the elements necessary with consequent consumption in the order of tens of kWh and consequent problems and costs for the installation.

 

For this purpose, an aerostat has been chosen which, albeit at a cost of ten times higher, guarantees operation by ensuring productivity 365 days a year and, consequently, allows an equal reduction in costs.

 

The energy autonomy allows us not to present limits due to the availability of the electricity grid or the use of electrogenerators with consequent pollution of the air and noise as well as an increase also in management costs for fuel consumption (about 0.5 l / kWh).
